Frantisek Masek


I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the Sapienza University of Rome, Department of Economics and Law. My main research interest lies in the fields of monetary policy, heterogeneous agents, financial frictions, and bounded rationality models.Secondarily, I also conduct research in causal inference, especially expanding and using quasi-experimental methods to capture possible spillovers in the presence of the SUTVA violation.During my Ph.D., I have spent time at the University of Chicago and the Vienna University of Technology. I also undertook a Ph.D. traineeship at the Directorate General Research of the European Central Bank.Currently, I have temporarily been a senior researcher at the Research Division of the National Bank of Slovakia until July 2025.You can find my CV attached here.
