Frantisek Masek


I am an economist working in the Research Department of the Czech National Bank. Previously, I worked in the Research Department of the National Bank of Slovakia.I obtained my PhD in Economics from Sapienza University of Rome, Department of Economics and Law. During my PhD studies, I spent research visits at the University of Chicago and the Vienna University of Technology. I also worked as a Ph.D. trainee at the Directorate General Research of the European Central Bank.My main research interests lie in the fields of monetary policy, heterogeneous agents, financial frictions, and bounded rationality models.Secondarily, I also conduct research in causal inference, especially expanding and using quasi-experimental methods to capture possible spillovers in the presence of the SUTVA violation.You can find my CV attached here.
